About my charity

The statistics on blindness are staggering. But people do not go blind by the million, they go blind one by one, and for each person the impact is enormous. Poverty and blindness are a formidable combination, depriving many people in the developing world of basic human rights. Loss of sight often results in social exclusion, making blind people vulnerable to abuse, poverty and early death. Less than half of all children who lose their sight will survive to adulthood. The figures appear overwhelming, yet providing help is simple.

I work in FMSD (Financial Markets Solutions Delivery) within Technology.

I have been at SCB 2 1/2 years and will be running my 3rd (and final) marathon as the long training really does take a toll on the body.

I'm hoping to finish in under 3 1/2 hours averaging 8 mins/mile but more importantly raise some money for SCB's Seeing is Believing charity which is a great cause.

I have been training hard running several times a week, with a long 10-14 mile run early each Sunday morning (getting out of bed 07:00am on a weekend has not been easy this cold winter) as it has generally meant freezing temperatures so can't wait for the spring !

All funds raised will be matched by SCB so each pound you contribute is doubled towards the SIB charity so all contributions really appreciated.
